Our client is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator III. The successful candidate will have a strong System Administration background with superior customer service abilities. This is a contract position in Vancouver, BC.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Leads and coordinates the operational support and implementation activities for local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) service offerings encompassing heterogeneous platforms
Responsibilities include loading software, providing network support for servers and monitoring system and network performance
Reviews distributed computing and network designs to select appropriate operational support strategies and ensure efficient use of resources.
SKILLS
Core competency skills should be at an advanced level.
Focused on enterprise-wide, multi-functional, integrated systems.
May be required to successfully lead a team of analysts on a project basis.
Proven track record of working with Customers to plan their systems.
Regularly required to provide consultation on his/her area of expertise.
Multiple large project/enterprise/multi-enterprise focused.
Typically longer term view (visionary) to technical issues
Requires a strong sense of ownership.
Requires ability to provide technical consultation to other projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Knowledge
Experience in setting up DRPs and High availability environments.
Windows 2K, Windows 2K3, IIS servers.
Required Skills & Abilities
24/7 availability, customer oriented, perform under pressure, willing to carry a pager & cell phone. Experience in monitoring and alerting tools
Flexible and work well under pressure.
Good written and verbal communication skills: in English. (And French a plus).
Required Experience
Solid Windows experience as system administrator (7+ years).
